İşler mentioned that nearly all tourism facilities were occupied during the New Year, bringing a beautiful conclusion to the year 2023.
Highlighting the increased tourism activity during the domestic mid-term holiday immediately following the New Year, İşler pointed out that many facilities had made preparations for this period.
Comparing reservations to the same period last year, İşler stated, "Reservations have increased by approximately 15% compared to the same period last year. Ski resorts and thermal facilities are attracting the most attention during this period. Our mid-term holiday is already progressing quite successfully. Children are the most important elements of our mid-term holiday. We create an environment for our children with special study areas, games, music, and opportunities for collective entertainment. We also provide educational and instructive activities for our children. Facilities offer various amenities such as indoor pools, especially spas, wellness activities, and natural therapy walks.
İşler emphasized the exceptional flow of reservations, especially for ski resorts like Uludağ and Palandöken, as well as thermal facilities. He continued:
"Particularly, regions near Istanbul such as Sapanca, Uludağ in Bursa, thermal facilities in Denizli and Afyonkarahisar, and coastal facilities in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions continue to accept reservations for the mid-term holiday. The tourism sector will enter 2024 with abundance during the mid-term holiday. There are prices suitable for everyone and every budget."
Discussing the occupancy rates of the facilities, İşler said, "Current occupancy rates are especially around 90% in ski resorts and thermal facilities. It seems that as the holiday approaches, these reservation occupancies will go up."
"We expect it to be the best year ever."
Mehmet İşler expressed his belief that Turkish tourism successfully completed the year 2023 and anticipated that 2024 would also be a successful year with the collaboration of the government and the sector. He said, "We expect to surpass the figures of 2023, and we anticipate it to be the best year ever, but only if everything continues in this manner."
The first term of the academic year will end on January 19th, Friday. The mid-term holiday will begin on January 22nd, Monday, and students will resume classes on February 5th.
