In his written statement, Karaismailoğlu noted that in April, air traffic increased by 9 percent to 66 thousand 415 in domestic flights, and to 59 thousand 661 with an increase of 25 percent in international flights.
Karaismailoğlu stated that the total aircraft traffic increased by 17.4 percent with the overpasses and reached 163 thousand 804, "Domestic passenger traffic at our airports has reached 7 million 61 thousand, international passenger traffic has reached 8 million 595 thousand. Thus, we served a total of 15 million 696 thousand passengers, including direct transit passengers, in the month in question. Passenger traffic increased by 31 percent in domestic lines and 37.2 percent in international lines, and total passenger traffic, including direct transit, increased by 34.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
Karaismailoğlu stated that there was an air traffic of 40 thousand 734 at Istanbul Airport in April, a total of 5 million 985 thousand passengers were hosted, and the aircraft traffic at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport was 17 thousand 877, and 2 million 763 thousand passengers were served.
Air traffic increased by 25.7 percent in the January-April period
Pointing out that in the January-April period, the aircraft traffic increased by 20.5 percent to 259 thousand 725 in domestic lines and to 200 thousand 144 with an increase of 30 percent in international lines, Karaismailoğlu noted that with the overpasses, the total aircraft traffic increased by 25.7% and reached 600 thousand 354.
Karaismailoğlu pointed out that 25 million 816 thousand passengers were served on domestic flights and 28 million 788 thousand passengers on international lines during the said period, "The number of passengers hosted at the airports in the January-April period increased by 32.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 54 million 679 thousand. In the same period, freight traffic reached 1 million 122 thousand tons in total, including 241 thousand 628 tons on domestic lines and 880 thousand 638 tons on international lines.
Stating that there was 154 thousand 579 aircraft traffic at Istanbul Airport in the period of January-April, Karaismailoğlu stated that a total of 22 million 515 thousand passengers were served.
Karaismailoğlu noted that there was a total of 68,466 aircraft traffic at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport in the four-month period, and that 10 million 685 thousand passengers were served.
