Antalya Breaks New Year's Record

Antalya, with its historical and natural beauties as well as its sea, sand, and sun, one of the most important tourism centers in the Mediterranean, set a tourist record during the New Year's week. In the last week, 121,139 tourists arrived in the city by air.

During the New Year's week, which covers the dates from December 23rd to December 30th, Antalya broke record after record in daily air arrivals. Antalya, one of the most important tourism centers in the Mediterranean with its sea, sand, sun, historical and natural beauties, cultural structures, and ancient cities, welcomed 121,139 tourists by air in the last week of the year.

INCREASED IN THE LAST TWO DAYS

According to the data from the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the daily entries on December 30th were 20,020, and on December 29th, they were 17,322. These entries for these two days surpassed both the daily entries of 2022 and 2019, setting a record as the best year-end daily entry in history. The air arrivals in December 2023 reached 302,505, exceeding December 2022 by 7% and December 2019 by 32%. This number is recorded as the highest data obtained from the international terminals of Antalya and Gazipaşa airports for the month of December.

LAST DAY WITH SUMMER FEEL

Antalya bid farewell to 2023 with a day reminiscent of summer. The air and sea water temperature was measured at 21 degrees. In the city where 90% of the 230,000 bed capacity in facilities serving during the winter period was filled, the beaches were crowded. While arrivals to the city continued throughout the day by air and land, the Antalya Police Department teams were also in the field for New Year's Eve. As part of the New Year's precautions, traffic control was carried out at 52 points in the city, and public order applications were conducted at 305 points. It was reported that nearly 1,000 teams and close to 5,000 personnel would be on duty during the New Year's period.
