SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, has announced the order of 45 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, as reported by Reuters. The purchase includes options and purchase rights for an additional 45 737 MAX planes.
Speaking at the Dubai Airshow aviation fair, SunExpress CEO Max Kownatzki specified that the firm order consists of 28 MAX 8 and 17 MAX 10 aircraft.
In a separate development, Turkish Airlines (THY) management had a meeting with Airbus officials in Istanbul for the largest order in its history, involving discussions for the acquisition of 355 aircraft. In addition to the previously decided 10 A350-900 planes, the proposed order includes 75 A350-900, 15 A350-1000, 5 A350F cargo aircraft, and 250 A321 NEO aircraft, totaling 355 planes.
