The interest of Arab visitors to Trabzon, which has the richest historical and natural beauties in terms of tourism destinations in the Eastern Black Sea Region, continues this year as well. In these days when the season started, Trabzon Airport attracted attention, especially the intensity of the planes coming from the Gulf Countries, and today the first flight of the season between Doha and Trabzon was carried out by Qatar Airways. While the Arab tourists on the Qatar Airways plane that landed at Trabzon Airport were greeted with horon and flowers on the apron, it was emphasized in the speeches made at the ceremony that Trabzon has come to the fore with its tourism in recent years.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the airport, Trabzon Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu reminded that last year, 2,700 international flights were made in Trabzon. Ustaoğlu said, “Today is a meaningful day for Trabzon. We know that there is a very strong relationship between our country and Qatar. In this sense, of course, it was a pleasure for us to see Qatar Airways in Trabzon, in a further dimension of this relationship. Trabzon has become a very important center that has come to the forefront with its tourism in recent years. Today, I would like to share that there are direct flights from 12 different gulf countries and 24 different points in Trabzon with Qatar Airways. I believe that Qatar Airways, one of the most prestigious airline companies, will add a different meaning to these flights. Last year, we made 2,700 international flights in Trabzon. Only over 375 thousand arriving passengers became our passengers, with a total of around 750 thousand round trips. We had a very busy time. The season has started this month. In the next period, we will realize a very busy season together. I would like to express that we, our citizens coming from the Gulf countries in particular, see us as guests, and we see them as brothers beyond tourists. I would like to express that they will spend their time safely here with their families and children. In other words, we are trying to host them well with all the stakeholders of this city without any problems.” Turkey's Ambassador to Doha, Mustafa Göksu, stated that the journalists arriving by plane would add value to the promotion of the region and said, "I would like to thank Qatar Airways for this initiative. Because when he came here today, he did not just open this line, he brought many journalists and social media people with him. At the same time, this will add a special value to the promotion of Trabzon, which is the pearl of our country, to that region. The continuation of other direct flights will increase family tourism and not only those who come directly but also those who come from Qatar will add to their agenda to land in Istanbul and return from Trabzon.”

Our direct flights between Doha and Trabzon will be operated on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays with our Airbus 320 type aircraft three days a week. While this route strengthens Qatar Airways' presence in Turkey, it will connect Trabzon residents to more than 160 destinations in our flight network.
