Standing out with its waterfalls, plateaus, streams and lakes, Ovacık enters the route of more and more local and foreign tourists every year.

The guests, who prefer to have a holiday in the district, especially in the summer months, stay in tent camping areas, bungalow houses and boutique hotels.

Visitors who spend time in touch with nature also participate heavily in canoe tours organized by some operators in the district.

The holidaymakers, who are taken to the Hozat Bridge location by vehicles accompanied by the guides, get on the canoes after receiving the necessary training here.

Vacationers rowing in groups in the clear waters of Munzur Stream travel on a course of approximately 6 kilometers.

They are experiencing exciting times

In some areas, vacationers get in between the high waves in the river with canoes.

Cemal Akbayin, who is interested in sports activities in the city, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that Tunceli has suitable environments for nature and water sports.

Expressing that canoeing has attracted interest in the region as well as rafting in recent years, Akbayin said:

"The Munzur Stream in Ovacık is very beautiful right now. The water is not very wavy, but it does meander and flow, offering unique views and canoeing suits it very well. When we get on a canoe boat from the very beginning of the track, we pass through lush green poplar and willow trees. We have the opportunity to see the Munzur Stream and all the beauties around it. Tourists come here from many cities and towns. We also enable them to do sports activities when they come, and those who ride canoes are very happy.”

"The track was beautiful and we rowed 6 kilometers"

Suat Eren, one of the nature lovers, stated that he got into a canoe for the first time despite his fear of entering the water.

Expressing that he was excited to do a canoe tour on Munzur Stream, Eren said, "The track was very beautiful and we rowed in an area of 6 kilometers. In some places, the waves were high, but in general, the waters of the creek were suitable for canoeing. It was wonderful to experience that energy."

National athlete Sara Akbayin also explained that canoe tours start from the Hozat Bridge and end near the district center.

Akbayin said, "Sometimes we board one or two or three people. Citizens who come here both enjoy their holidays and do a different activity in the clear waters of Munzur Stream."
