The Chairman of the Parliamentary Digital Media Commission and AK Party Hatay Deputy Hüseyin Yayman announced that Hatay Airport has been closed to all flights for 8 months.
Speaking about the airport's complete closure to flights, Yayman said; “After the earthquake, there was a break in the runway section of the airport from 7 different places.” According to the news on OdaTV, Hüseyin Yayman, who reminded that these breaks prevented flights, said that for this reason, the airport was closed for all flights both arrivals and departures for 8 months.
WE AIM TO FINISH WORK BEFORE THE TIME
In his statement, Yayman said, “The earthquake that took place on February 6 was one of the biggest earthquakes in the history of the world. It caused the havoc that 200 atomic bombs could cause. Continents shifted. Today, we are trying to repair those damages. Among them is the Airport. Runway 7 was broken. The runway will be removed and a new runway will be built in its place. We think that these works will be completed within 8 months. It may take a while but our effort is to finish on time or ahead of time. And our citizens should not worry, I will follow the issue from beginning to end.”
