While the number of people visiting Spain by air in the 7 months of 2023 reached 53.5 million, an increase of 21.6 percent compared to the same period of 2022, it fell behind by 1.6 percent in 2019.
According to the news in Tourism Databank, 10.3 million people visited the country in July, an increase of 11.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
On the other hand, the UK and Germany markets in Spain still could not reach 2019 figures, while markets such as Italy, France, Netherlands and Portugal exceeded 2019.
The United Kingdom accounts for 24.1 percent of arrivals. Germany got 14.2 percent and Italy 9.3 percent.
The Balearic Islands received 23.8 percent of the total passengers with 2.46 million people, followed by Catalonia with 19.6 percent of the total. Madrid and Valencia followed Catalonia.
