On the last day of Ramadan Bayram holiday, there has been an influx of return traffic at Istanbul Airport. Returning citizens and foreign tourists at the airport, heading back to their countries, caused congestion.
Taking advantage of the 9-day Ramadan Bayram holiday, citizens who went to their hometowns and holiday destinations started returning to Istanbul as the holiday came to an end. Those returning to the city caused crowding at Istanbul Airport. It was learned that Istanbul Airport authorities took all necessary measures to ensure that citizens did not experience any problems, and deployed additional staff to quickly resolve any potential issues.
The presence of citizens from various regions of Turkey who spent the holiday in Istanbul, as well as Arab tourists returning to their countries, increased the congestion at the airport. Additionally, airlines added extra flights to meet the increased demand due to the congestion.
