A space tourism company is designing a spherical capsule capable of carrying customers into space.

New photos have been released showcasing the construction of the "Space Neptune" capsule by the U.S.-based company "Space Perspective" in Florida.

Once completed, "Space Neptune" will conduct flights to 30 kilometers above the Earth's surface, providing incredible photo opportunities.

The capsule will feature a bar, in-capsule Wi-Fi, and a toilet for passengers. Passengers will be able to enjoy a 360-degree view of Earth while inside the capsule.

The company aims to welcome its first passengers aboard Space Neptune by the end of 2024, contingent on the success of unmanned test flights.

In a recent statement, the company referred to the capsule as the "latest marvel in sustainable space travel."

JOURNEY DETAILS

The capsule containing passengers will be tethered to a much larger balloon filled largely with hydrogen gas.

When fully expanded, the balloon's volume will be 18 million cubic feet, large enough to encompass a football stadium.

As hydrogen gas is lighter than the surrounding air, the balloon, along with the capsule beneath it, will slowly ascend through the Earth's atmosphere.

The company claims the capsule will reach equilibrium above 99% of the Earth's atmosphere, where it will "float like an ice cube on water."

During the journey, passengers will be able to see distances of up to 450 miles in every direction.

Throughout the flight, passengers will be served breakfast, be able to order drinks, and can recline in comfortable seating to enjoy the unique views.
