According to a statement from Karanfil Group, at the event organized to see the tourism potential of the Eastern Black Sea region, the Mayor of Giresun, the Governor of Trabzon, the Mayor of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, and the Governor of Gümüşhane met with a delegation of tour operators from Libya. During the meetings, the planned sister city protocol between the municipalities of Trabzon and Tripoli was also discussed. Detailed information was provided about the planned promotion of Trabzon in Libya.
Murtaza Karanfil, Chairman of the Board of Karanfil Group, whose remarks were included in the statement, noted that they expect the tourism record set last year with 57 million visitors to be broken again this year, and tourism revenues to exceed 60 billion dollars.
Highlighting the growing tourism potential of Trabzon, Karanfil stated that the 38% increase in the number of domestic and foreign tourists last year was a significant achievement.
Karanfil remarked, "We aim to contribute to this increase by bringing tourists from Libya. Additionally, this initiative should be considered as part of the steps taken to enhance Turkey's tourism potential."
