The works initiated by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality in Maden Deresi, which was declared a 'qualified natural conservation area' in 2019 and has been one of the city's most valuable natural areas for centuries, are nearing completion. Within this scope, the Department of Parks and Gardens conducted comprehensive work in areas that posed safety risks to visitors as part of the project.
In Maden Deresi, Sakarya’s 'qualified natural conservation area,' where the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality launched a recreation project, steel construction stairs, a walking area, and a large viewing terrace were built to ensure safe and comfortable walking in hazardous areas. The safety level was increased in the 500-meter section at the entrance of the natural area. The construction of the 120-meter steel construction stairs was completed. Additionally, a steel construction walking area was built in the following section, covering approximately 1.5 kilometers. The project was enhanced with a viewing terrace prepared at the higher section of the area, offering a magnificent view. The destination, 80% complete, will significantly contribute to Sakarya's tourism.
