Local and foreign tourist activity continues in Bodrum, one of the most important tourism destinations in the world. As of the end of August, 1.3 million foreign tourists came to Bodrum from Milas-Bodrum Airport's international flights, and 59 thousand 100 foreign tourists came to Bodrum from 65 cruise ships. Bodrum Hoteliers Association Vice President Alişir Şahin stated that they hosted mostly foreign tourists and middle-aged and retired people in September and October and said, "Our middle-age group guests started to arrive. Currently, the occupancy rate in hotels is around 80 percent."

THE BRITISH ARE IN THE FIRST PLACE

Stating that September and autumn are the best times in Bodrum, Şahin said, "So far this year, 1.3 million foreign guests have arrived from international destinations. Tourists who have been coming from England for years are in the first place. Then come Russia, Germany and Poland.

"This figure will trend upwards around September-October." Şahin noted that not all of those who came stayed in Bodrum, but some went to Didim. Stating that if the weather is mild and warm in October, occupancy will continue, Şahin said:

HOLIDAY PER PERSON: 1,500 TL

"Normally, we would not expect 80 percent in October, this figure would be even lower. After the 45 days that we call the high season are over, there is a decrease in prices in September and October, generally in the range of 40 percent. This period is a holiday opportunity for our guests in both the domestic and foreign markets. There will be another price break in September and October. After the 20th of September, prices drop further. Bodrum has holiday advantages suitable for every budget. "After the 20th of September, there may be an opportunity to have a holiday for 1,500 lira per person."
