Museums and archaeological sites welcomed nearly 14 million visitors in six months

Nearly 14 million people visited the museums and archaeological sites affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the first six months of this year. The number of domestic and foreign visitors increased by 12% compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to information obtained by an IHA reporter from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, museums and archaeological sites welcomed nearly 14 million visitors in the first half of this year. The number of domestic and foreign visitors increased by 12% compared to the same period last year. In this regard, the top sites were:

Ephesus Archaeological Site with 1,117,528 visitors,Mevlana Museum with 1,102,358 visitors,Hierapolis (Pamukkale) Archaeological Site with 985,265 visitors,Göreme Archaeological Site with 501,236 visitors,Zelve - Paşabağları Archaeological Site with 464,101 visitors.
