Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal said that the 8th of the Kaleiçi Oldtown Festival will be held on October 12-15, the biggest link in their efforts to attract those who want to discover new places, cultures and people to Antalya and to create a network of living ancient cities. President Uysal said that they sent an introductory letter to 1,250 cities for the 8th festival. Mayor Uysal said that Kaleiçi, the historical city center of Antalya, has become a destination where tourism continues for 12 months. Underlining that Kaleiçi has become a regular center with the meetings held with Kaleiçi tradesmen and collaborations with different institutions and organizations, Mayor Uysal said, “This was the result of a process of correctly constructing the future of Antalya with a view to the city.” Noting that the Kaleiçi Oldtown Festival, which is the most important link of this process, has now turned into an Antalya brand, Uysal said that the festival, which will be held for the 8th time this year, will be held on October 12-15. President Uysal said that they delivered promotional letters to 1,250 cities from different parts of the world for the 8th festival. In the letter, Uysal stated that the festival has an identity where the problems of ancient cities living together with the forum are discussed, joint declarations are signed, and it raises awareness about the protection of historical and cultural heritage and transferring it to future generations.
