Revenues in tourism are high

In the Turkish economy, the turnover index increased by 71.9% year-on-year in April 2024, while the accommodation sector saw an increase of 106.9%.

According to the findings of the turnover index calculated by TURİZM Databank based on data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and excise tax (ÖTV) and VAT declarations from the Revenue Administration, the turnover index of the service sector increased by 85.2% year-on-year in April 2024, while the accommodation sector saw an increase of 106.9%. The increases were 91.3% in airlines and 92.5% in agencies. The food and beverage sector also showed the highest growth, at 107.3%.

On the other hand, the turnover index for the combined sectors of industry, construction, trade, and services rose by 71.9%. Thus, the tourism sectors have surpassed the overall trend.
