Founded in 1989 as a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, SunExpress was named the World's Best Entertainment Airline at the World Airline Awards in 2022. The reservations of SunExpress, which has already started flights to Antalya, are strong enough for the airline to expand its services and add winter flights to its schedule.
The flights will take place twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and will increase to three over the summer, with the addition of Thursdays from May 2023. SunExpress has announced that it will expand its services beyond the summer months and in the winter period of 2023-24 due to high demand.
Passengers traveling on the first flight were greeted with an opening celebration at check-in to mark the official opening of the new route on Tuesday.
Flights start at £78.99 one way and all tickets include a minimum of 20kg of luggage as standard.
