10 thousand athletes, 1,400 of whom are foreigners from 47 countries, took their steps to heal the wounds in the 18th International Runtalya Marathon. 90 non-governmental organizations and 126 national-international companies participated in the event as a team and created awareness.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Antalya Governor Ersin Yazıcı and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, and our Olympic medal-winning National Athletes Ramil Guliyev, Gülnaz Büşranur Coşkun, Mete Gazoz, Osman Yıldırım, Fazlı Eryılmaz, Şahika Encümen, Sevda Altınoluk, Fatmagül Güler, Nesim Turan and Abdullah Öztürk started.In the 18th Runtalya Marathon, a 2 km "1 STEP 1 LIFE" charity run was also held this year.
The 2 km "1 STEP 1 LIFE" run, in which the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu also participated, was attended by 3,000 people, both adults and children.
At the Runtalya Marathon, where the "1 Step 1 Life" awareness run, which will be an example for the national and international sports events to be organized this year to be transformed into great awareness projects, the main stakeholders of the first big donation organization company, Fraport TAV Antalya Airport, Terracity and with the financial support of ASICS, which believes in the healing and unifying power of sports, all over the world.
More than 5 million donations have been collected so far through citizens, runners, non-governmental organizations, local and national companies. Donations will continue to be collected until April 1, 2023 for the “1 Step 1 Life” awareness project, which has a donation target of 10 million TL.
