The cable car project with 2 stations and 36 cabins, which started to be built in 2018, has come to an end.

"Sapanca is a brand town"

Sapanca Cable Car Board Member Burhan Özgümüş told reporters that Sapanca is a brand district.

Stating that investments should be made in some new destinations in order to move the district forward, Özgümüş said, "We received the bid opened by Sapanca Municipality with the build-operate-transfer model. We strictly followed the location and working style as specified by Sapanca Municipality. We have the opportunity to open our facility in the fifth year."

Özgümüş stated that they predicted an increase in the number of tourists coming to the district thanks to the cable car, and said that they aim to contribute to the people of Sapanca, and that Sapanca Municipality will receive a share from the income to be obtained from the system.

Pointing out that the center of Sapanca is flat and the guests cannot see the beauty of the district, Özgümüş said, "Guests will be able to see the unity of Sapanca scenery along the cable car. There is a recreation area near our upper station, we have prepared the facilities and infrastructure for the visitors to have a better day. Sapanca has a lake feature that is rarely seen in the world. We aimed to keep all this beauty alive during the cable car trip. Those who come will see Sapanca from a different perspective."

Özgümüş added that the tests will end on Monday and that they will receive a certificate, and that they will become operational on 15 June.

"We have the capacity to serve 1500 people per hour"

Sapanca Cable Car Technical Manager İbrahim Karakoç said that there are 2 stations, 9 ropeway poles and 36 cabins in the system.

Stating that they did not face a situation that would harm the nature, Karakoç explained that the line continues completely over the tree and forest cover, and that they have the capacity to serve 1500 people per hour.

Expressing that both the district and the lake can be watched from different angles during the cable car journey, Karakoç said, "A journey where green and blue are intertwined awaits our guests from the first moment."

Stating that 80 experienced personnel will be employed at the facility, he noted that they are prepared for a safe journey.
