The distance between Ankara and Istanbul will be 1.5 hours

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said, "This will be a completely new train route and the travel time will take 89 minutes, or 1.5 hours, with the super-high-speed train route to be built between Ankara and Istanbul."

Karaismailoğlu, emphasizing that they focus on railway investments in his written statement, said, "Railways are a part of our lives. Our goal is to develop it, to spread the comfort of high-speed trains all over Turkey, and to pass a new age in Turkey railways."

Expressing that they continue to produce projects in line with this goal, Karaismailoğlu noted that one of the projects is the super-high-speed train route.

Karaismailoğlu gave the following information about the project:

"This will be a completely train route. The line will be built on the Ankara Nallıhan and Sakarya route. We have made the feasibility studies and prepared the projects. The length of the super-high-speed train route will be 344 kilometers. Within the scope of the project, we will construct 19 viaducts with a length of 14 kilometers and 52 tunnels with a length of 120 kilometers. "The train will reach a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Travel time will take 89 minutes, or 1.5 hours, with the super-high-speed train route to be built between Ankara and Istanbul. We will start our project after the presidental election. We will continue to use our existing high-speed train line."
