The first snow of the season has fallen on Ilgaz Mountain, one of Turkey's prominent winter tourism destinations that has been the subject of folk songs. Located on the border of Kastamonu and Çankırı, Ilgaz Mountain is an important center for winter tourism. The snowfall, which began as temperatures dropped below freezing during the night, has covered the summit of Ilgaz Mountain in white. The snow is not expected to affect Kastamonu and the surrounding region over the weekend.
The snowfall, effective in the summit area of Mount Ilgaz, as well as in the peaks of Küçük Hacet and Büyük Hacet at an altitude of 2,500 meters, has created beautiful scenes for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Despite being November 15th, Nature photographer Cebrail Keleş, commenting on Mount Ilgaz still not wearing its white gown, said, 'For the first time, after a cold night with intense snowfall, we hurried to the summit points of Mount Ilgaz in the morning to see a thin layer of white. We came here to photograph the snow. However, we couldn't capture the images we wanted. Very little snow has fallen. The snowfall has been very delayed this year. Normally, at this time of the season, we should be photographing beautiful snow scenes, but right now, there is very little snow. Hopefully, in the coming days, there will be intense snowfall, and Mount Ilgaz will show us that familiar white face we are used to.
