The ceremony of the terminal building of Vietnam's Long Thanh International Airport, for which the VIETUR Consortium formed under the leadership of IC İçtaş İnşaat won the tender, was held. It has been announced that the airport will serve with a capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo in the first phase. The 1.5 billion dollar project will be completed in 39 months.
The airport, which will be established in the east of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, will be implemented by the VIETUR Consortium led by IC İçtaş İnşaat. The consortium, which undertook the first phase of the project worth 1.5 billion dollars, will complete the first phase consisting of terminal building and equipment assembly within 39 months. Long Thanh International Airport, which will have a capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo at the first stage, will serve more than 100 million passengers annually when all stages are put into operation. More than 10 thousand employees are expected to take part in the Long Thanh International Airport project.
IC İçtaş İnşaat Chairman of the Board Fırat Çeçen and Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh and their ministers attended the ceremony. In addition, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey Enver İskurt, Hanoi Ambassador Haldun Tekneci, the president of Vietnam Airports company, IC İçtaş İnşaat executives, senior executives of Vietnamese companies involved in the project, and local and international press representatives attended.
Expressing that IC İçtaş İnşaat, which has signed more than 12 airport projects, will carry its experience in construction and operation to the Far East with the Long Thanh International Airport Project, IC İçtaş İnşaat Chairman of the Board Fırat Çeçen; “The new airport to be established in Dong Nai province, east of Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh city, will move this ancient city back to its former transfer center position and turn it into a center of attraction in Asia.”
