The report, which highlights concerns about the tourism, one of our country's most important sources of income, including the targeted profile of tourists, occupancy rates, and unmet revenue goals, offers the following recommendations: "We should participate more strongly in sustainable tourism, which is developing much faster than mass tourism worldwide and is a significant tool in regional development. Niche markets are crucial for increasing per capita spending rates. Niche markets are both highly profitable and supportive of sustainable tourism. Communication and promotional activities in the past tourism season were largely targeted at the mass tourism audience; communication and promotions should be directed towards the sustainable-green-responsible tourist profile. Protected areas, which are a valuable resource for sustainable tourism, should be closed to mass tourism development. Improving tourist gift products through more careful and consistent processes in the patenting and branding of geographical indications will also contribute to tourism revenues."

The USTUD autumn report emphasizes the need for the sector to show interest in technological R&D: "Artificial intelligence-focused marketing strategies should be determined to offer the right product to the right target audience at the right time with low costs. Interactive gaming systems and other innovative applications, which are highly important for the new generation and children, should be utilized.
