Desert-like heat has arrived in the district of Bodrum in Muğla. Thermometers soared up to 48 degrees Celsius in Bodrum, where citizens sought relief by swimming in the sea.
The day in Bodrum, a jewel of tourism, began with temperatures reaching 44 degrees Celsius. Vehicle thermometers showed 48 degrees, making it difficult for citizens to even breathe. With humidity levels reaching 40% and sea water temperature measured at 23 degrees, the district experienced desert-like conditions. Residents preferred to stay in the shade, and their gathering in shaded areas was noticeable. It was learned that the temperatures are expected to rise even further in the coming days.
Meanwhile, 560 American passengers and 416 crew members arrived in Bodrum from the Bahamas-flagged cruise ship Seabourn Encore, which is 180 meters long. Tourists, who preferred to stroll in shaded areas, explored Bodrum's historical and cultural sites.
