The touristic eastern express reaches its final destination in Kars.
The Touristic Eastern Express, which departed from Ankara, arrived in Kars after a magical journey lasting 24 hours. Upon the enchanting journey of the first run for the 2023-2024 period with the Touristic Eastern Express by the General Directorate of Transport and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Turkish State Railways (TCDD) Transportation Inc., passengers were welcomed at the Station Building by local enthusiasts. Kars Governor Ziya Polat presented red carnations to the arriving passengers.
At Kars Station, the enthusiasts, accompanied by the Caucasian dance performance, had an unforgettable night. Touristic Eastern Express passengers, expressing that they had arrived in Kars after a fairy-tale journey, took plenty of photos in front of the Kars sign illuminated with torches in front of the station building.
TCDD Transportation Inc. Deputy General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şinasi Kazancıoğlu, expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome in Kars, said, "I would like to thank you for the very warm welcome in Kars. Kars is indeed a well-known tourism corridor in Turkey and the world. We love Kars, and we are trying to make others love it too. Hopefully, we will try to serve Turkey with new tourism corridors in the spring. We want it to be as beautiful as the Kars tour.
Expressing his happiness in welcoming the guests to Kars, Governor/Municipal Acting Mayor Ziya Polat said, "Welcome to our heroic Kars, the gateway to Anatolia, the city of firsts, the historical city, the tourism city, the crystal snow land, Ani, and Lake Çıldır. Of course, we consider the Touristic Eastern Express as a very important investment that elevates Kars' brand value. I would like to express my gratitude to our President, as well as our Minister of Transport and all the personnel of the Ministry of Transport, for making Kars a tourism brand."
After watching the performances prepared for them, the guests who arrived in Kars with the Touristic Eastern Express left the station building to go to the hotels assigned for them.
