MATSO President Seydi Tahsin Güngör noted that the Law on the Rental of Residential Properties for Touristic Purposes came into effect as of January 1. He emphasized that the state aims to regulate the rental of residential properties for tourism purposes through this law, intending to control the sector and curb the informal economy. In collaboration with Manavgat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MATSO) and Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, an informative meeting on the Law on the Rental of Residential Properties for Touristic Purposes was organized for chamber members. President Güngör stated that the law, effective from January 1, 2024, outlines the procedures and principles for renting residential properties for tourism purposes, particularly for stays of 100 days or less. He highlighted that the government aims to regulate the rental of residential properties for tourism purposes and simultaneously address the issue of the informal economy.
Antalya Provincial Deputy Director of Culture and Tourism Ilknur Selçuk Köker and Branch Director Hakan Seven provided detailed information on the Law on the Rental of Residential Properties for Touristic Purposes during the presentation. The application process for tourism rental permits and other aspects of the law were thoroughly explained to participants. The interactive and productive meeting also addressed participants' questions. The meeting, held at the MATSO service building with high attendance, included MATSO President Seydi Tahsin Güngör, Board Member of the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) Ahmet Özden, MATSO Vice Presidents Ezgi İnci Korkusuz, Anıl Bahar, and Ali Özen, as well as members of the council and committees, and members from the tourism, real estate, and construction sectors, including property owners utilizing their residences for tourism purposes.
