Airline companies of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have managed to increase their flights to Turkey in recent years in light of the progress of bilateral relations and strategic partnership.
The UAE's national carriers highlighted that the air transport sector has played an important role in strengthening economic relations between the UAE and Turkey in recent years, as it is a vital artery for the tourism and business sectors.
In addition to carrying out seasonal flights during the summer period, it once again confirmed its success in increasing the number of flights to destinations in Turkey in light of the high demand from passengers.
ETIHAD AIRLINES
Etihad Airways announced that it operates 10 flights per week from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Istanbul Airport.
Etihad Airways launched its first flights to Turkey in June 2009, with 4 flights a week.
Etihad Airways resumed its commercial flights between Abu Dhabi and Istanbul, which was suspended due to the "Covid-19" pandemic, as of January 17, 2021.
EMIRATE AIRLINES
In addition to its two flights in partnership with Fly Dubai, Emirates Airlines operates 21 flights a week to Istanbul Airport on Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft.
From the beginning of October 2021, Emirates Airlines started its first regular daily service to Istanbul with the giant Airbus A380 providing 517 seats.
The increase in capacity helps increase mobility between the two countries.
Since it started serving Turkey 34 years ago, until September 2021, Emirates Airlines has carried more than six million passengers on more than 23,000 flights.
AIR ARABIA AIRLINES
Air Arabia operates 50 weekly flights, including seasonal flights, from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi to Turkey.
In addition to 10 weekly flights from Sharjah to Istanbul, Air Arabia operates 7 weekly flights from Sharjah to Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.
Air Arabia also operates seasonal flights with one daily flight to Antalya and three daily flights to Trabzon.
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi operates approximately 5 flights per week from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.
FLYDUBAI
Flydubai said that it started its Turkey flights in 2010 with daily flights to Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.
Flydubai currently flies to five destinations in Turkey, including Ankara, Bodrum and Trabzon, as well as Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Istanbul International Airport.
Flydubai stated that it will operate up to 102 weekly flights between Dubai International Airport and the five destinations it serves in Turkey, in order to offer easy options to passengers during the holiday season, during the peak travel period between June and September this year.
WIZZ AIR ABU DHABI
Since the beginning of June, "Wiz Air Abu Dhabi" has started flights to Antalya on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in the summer, in addition to its flights to Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
