Local tourists coming to Malatya also visit the 2,150-meter-high Mount Nemrut, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Foreign tourists who want to see Mount Nemrut, which is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List and described as "the most beautiful place to watch the sunrise and sunset in the world", also visit Mount Nemrut after their visit to Malatya. Zhang Jiao, Chen Tao, Zhang Biting, Pan Boou, citizens of the Republic of China, who came to Malatya before their visit to Mount Nemrut, visited the Malatya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and stated that they were happy to be in the region. Deputy Director of Provincial Culture and Tourism Ali Cengiz said, “Despite the effects of the earthquake, we are glad that visitors from abroad come to our city. We asked our guests their opinions about Türkiye and Malatya. They conveyed that they had very good ideas. We tell them that we have works in Malatya that they can visit outside of Mount Nemrut. We especially recommend them to visit Arslantepe Mound, the pride of our province, which has been on the World Heritage List since 2021.”
