Waste reception vessels will start collecting waste as of May 1

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality is preparing for the tourism season with 7 waste reception vessel to keep the seas cleaner.

The seas of Muğla, which is one of the most important tourism centers of Europe and Turkey, the frequent destination of the blue voyage, continue to be cleaned by the Metropolitan Municipality. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its efforts to protect the seas throughout the province, will continue to serve with waste reception vessels as of May 1.

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality collects wastes from sea vehicles with 7 boats within the framework of the 'Blue Sea Clean Coasts' project and collects them at the waste collection center in Göcek and Akyaka. The seas of Muğla, where thousands of tour boats and private sea vehicles travel, are protected by the Metropolitan. To date, 16 million kg of waste has been collected from the seas.

In the centers in Göcek and Akyaka, 7  waste reception vessels are maintained and repaired in order to be ready for the season. Waste reception vessels will start to collect waste from boats in the seas as of May 1, 2023. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has served 15 thousand 992 boats in Göcek, Gökova Bay and Dalaman bays so far. During this process, the teams collected 12 thousand 420 liters of waste oil, 46 thousand 720 liters of bilge, 14 million 478 thousand 822 liters of sewage, 16 million 254 thousand 795 kg of solid waste.
