According to a study, the top products preferred by Russians who travel abroad for shopping are bags, watches, and jewelry. The survey results show that the most preferred destination for shopping by Russians is Thailand, with 24.7%. Thailand is followed by Turkey with 20% and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with 15.3%.
"However, among the most ideal countries for shopping tourism, Spain ranks first with 21.6%, Italy comes second with 17.8%, and Singapore is third with 15.9%.
The main reasons for traveling abroad for shopping include attractive prices (47.4%) and purchasing brands that are not available in Russia (33.3%). 80% of travelers prefer to buy accessories and jewelry, while 72.2% choose to buy clothing. Technological products are another popular shopping item, with 30.6% preferring them.
Most travelers spend more than 50,000 rubles on their shopping abroad and sometimes have to buy extra suitcases to carry the products they purchase. According to the survey results, 57.1% of participants have encountered this situation at least once.
Recently, there has also been an increase in demand for cruise tours and five-star hotel stays among Russian tourists."
