The five millionth passenger was welcomed with a ceremony at YDA Dalaman Airport. The 5 millionth passenger experienced the joy of the gifts given. Dalaman District Governor Mesut Yakuta, who attended the welcome ceremony held at Dalaman Airport, said:
“We celebrated the 100th anniversary of our Republic with great enthusiasm last week with the events we held. Today, we welcomed the 5 millionth passenger at Dalaman Airport, which has the 5th largest international capacity in Turkey. This was a number we had not reached before, so we are very happy. I believe that we will hopefully achieve greater goals in the coming years. “We aim to contribute to Turkish tourism by hosting many travelers here in our beautiful district.”

Yiğit Laçin, CEO of YDA Dalaman Airport, which serves a 1,100 km coastline on the southwestern coast of Turkey, said: “Today, we are experiencing one of the most special moments in the history of YDA Dalaman Airport. As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic, welcoming our 5 millionth passenger is not only a milestone but also a source of great pride. As YDA Dalaman Airport, we strive to grow every day and provide the best service possible.”
CEO Yiğit Laçin underlined that they will continue to move towards even bigger goals with the 5 millionth passenger; “We came together to celebrate this special moment, and this success is an indication that YDA Dalaman Airport will continue to move towards greater goals together with all its stakeholders. “Our airport will continue its efforts to provide better service to our guests.”
It was announced that Dalaman Airport, which welcomed its 5 millionth passenger in the first 10 months, experienced the best year of tourism before the pandemic in terms of the number of passengers served, 6.5% of 2019, and 2.2% above the previous year, 2022.

The 5 millionth passenger, Julia Boelke, who was welcomed with a ceremony at Dalaman Airport and could not hide her surprise, stated that she could not believe that she was the 5 millionth passenger and said, “This is our first time coming to Dalaman Airport as a family. As a family, we love Turkey and its people very much. We come to Turkey every year. Turkey and Muğla attract us with their natural beauties and cultural riches. I feel very lucky to be the 5 millionth passenger. We thank Dalaman Airport officials for this nice welcome and organization.”
