750 archaeological excavations will be carried out this year

According to the statement made by the Ministry, archaeological excavations are carried out at many points with the aim of bringing the historical richness of Turkey to light.

In this context, traces of the Neolithic period will be searched in Konya. The period from the Neolithic period to the Iron Age will be investigated with the excavations that will begin in the coming days at Gökhöyük in the district of Seydişehir.

The primary goal of the excavations, which will continue in the long term, will be to obtain information about the last inhabitants of the settlement, which is predicted to belong to the Iron Age.

Work begins again in the Ancient City of Sobesos

Excavations, which were interrupted for a long time in the Sobesos Ancient City in Nevşehir's Ürgüp district, will resume this year.

Restoration-oriented works will continue in areas such as Denizli Laodikeia and Tripolis, Antalya Olympos, Patara, Perge and Side, Muğla, Stratonikeia, Euromos, Knidos and Beçin Castle, Mersin Silifke Castle and Uzuncaburç.
