Located in the Tatvan district of Bitlis, Nemrut Crater Lake boasts steam chimneys, an ice cave, and warm and cold lakes. In addition to its natural beauty, Nemrut Crater Lake has also recently gained attention due to bears in the area, and the newly introduced ATV tours add a new dimension of excitement.
Nemrut Caldera, which received the 'Excellence Award' as part of the European Destinations of Excellence (EDEN) project, offers local and foreign tourists participating in the ATV tours a fun and thrilling experience in nature.
Tourists, both local and international, embark on ATV tours from the summit of Nemrut Mountain in Tatvan to the area around Turkey's largest Nemrut Crater Lake within the caldera. ATV operator Kadir Karaman aims to promote the region by introducing visitors to the magnificent views and natural beauty of Nemrut Mountain. He provides necessary safety training for ATV use and ensures an unforgettable experience for his guests. Karaman stated that everyone, regardless of their prior experience with ATVs, undergoes a brief training session. In addition to training, safety measures such as helmets are also provided. He said:
TOURISM PARADISE
'We serve people coming from outside. This is a newly opened sector in Tatvan and the only one in the east. We give our guests a 20-minute accelerated course. We conduct a driving test. To use this vehicle, we require a Class B driver's license. When we head to Nemrut with the vehicles, I lead the way for our guests. We carefully ascend and enjoy the view. Upon reaching Nemrut Caldera, I guide them around the steam chimneys, warm and large lakes. We are contributing to the promotion of Nemrut Crater Lake, which is already a tourism paradise, through our own efforts.'
