Buldanlı high school student İlkem Bilgin won the second prize with Buldan's traditional flavor 'Balcan onion' at the national cooking competition held in Fethiye.
Senior student at Sema Abdurrahman Karamanlıoğlu Vocational High School of Hotel Management and Tourism, İlkem Bilgin from Buldan, won the second prize in the regional cuisine category at the national cooking competition organized by Chef Mavi Fethiye Professional Chefs Association with the traditional flavor unique to Buldan, 'Balcan onion'.
İlkem Bilgin, who mentioned that she made yufka with her grandmother for Balcan onion, said, "With the recipe I learned from my elders and using all the necessary ingredients, I presented Balcan onion to the jury. I also added çitlembik to it. It received great admiration. They asked for my recipe. I am deeply honored to introduce this beautiful flavor of Buldan. Indeed, Buldan has a traditional cuisine and indispensable flavors. In the competitions I will participate in the future, I will continue to promote these flavors of Buldan."
