The news stated that the government will pay a total of 5.5 million euros in compensation to 3 thousand households around Amsterdam Schiphol Airport due to noise pollution.

It was shared that the compensation, which is an average of 1800 euros per household, will be paid at the end of October or the beginning of November.

It was claimed in the news that the Environmental and Transport Inspection Authority (ILT) has not carried out inspections despite the sound limit being exceeded around the airport in recent years, and that the institution will restart inspections as of 2024.
