Crazy Project About Space from Russia

Vladimir Koshlakov, General Director of Roscosmos's Kelst Research Center, stated that Russian experts are working on a project to examine the interstellar environment and send spacecraft beyond the solar system.

Koshlakov, General Manager of the Keldysh Center operating within the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), explained that Russian experts are working on a project to examine the interstellar environment and send spacecraft beyond the solar system within the scope of the Russian International Exhibition and Forum.

“Currently, a project to study the interstellar medium is being created and a space experiment involving the flight of a vehicle beyond the solar system is being prepared,” Koshlakov said.

Pointing out that the world's most powerful plasma engine developed by the Keldıs Center will be used in the spacecraft, Koşlakov underlined that this engine can operate 'uninterruptedly for many years'.

The plasma engine or Hall effect engine can be included in the class of electric rocket engines. Compared to ion engines, plasma engines have more thrust but lower efficiency. These engines stand out with their low fuel consumption and can operate uninterruptedly for years.
