In the morning, cruise ships named "Celebrity Beyond" and Celebrity Apex with Maltese flags and "Star Legent" with Bahamian flags anchored at the port.
6 thousand 220 tourists who got off the ships were welcomed with a performance by the folk dance team.
While some of the tourists visited the House of Virgin Mary and the Ancient City of Ephesus in Izmir's Selçuk district, those who did not participate in the tours preferred to spend time in the city center.
Aegean Port General Manager Aziz Güngör stated that they have hosted 409 ships since the beginning of the year and said that October will be busy.
Emphasizing that it is important for cruise tourism to spread over 12 months, Güngör said, "Cruise tourism will continue spread over 12 months in 2024 and 2025. Therefore, we will host cruise ships in all months of the year. This is a very pleasing situation for Kuşadası's economy, especially for its tradesmen."
