In the 5th Göcek Herb Festival in Fethiye district of Muğla, local herbs and dishes made from herbs were introduced. At the festival, which was organized for the 5th time this year by the Göcek Culture and Tourism Association, herbs grown in the region were introduced and dishes made from these herbs were presented. Herb soup and ayran were served to the participants of the festival, where traditional herb dishes and local products were offered for sale. During the festival, citizens and participants wearing local clothes spent an unforgettable day playing to the accompaniment of folk dance music. The members of the jury, consisting of the members of the Turkish Cooks Federation, determined the most delicious herb dish by the citizens at the festival. Onur Ugan, Vice President of Göcek Culture and Tourism Association, told journalists that culture is being kept alive with the festival, which has become a tradition.
Explaining that herbs and natural teas were introduced in the mountains in the region within the framework of the festival, Ugan said; "Today, we bring the dishes made from herbs to our guests. Our aim is to pass on the food our ancestors ate to the next generation. Thus, we aim to spread healthy food, maintain village life and keep our children away from ready-made foods. We are also offering local food and handicrafts to tourists in the region. This is a great pleasure for us."
