Russia Federation topped the list with 138,957 visitors, followed by Germany with 95,465 visitors, Iran with 75,312 visitors, and the United Kingdom with 56,430 visitors. France followed the UK with 48,902 visitors, then Saudi Arabia with 43,415 visitors, and the United States with 41,472 visitors.
In February, the first choice for foreign visitors to Istanbul was Istanbul Airport, which was preferred by 904,642 foreign visitors. Istanbul Airport accounted for 70.27% of the total number of foreign visitors arriving by air in February.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport welcomed 381,508 foreign visitors in February, making it the second busiest gateway for foreign visitors. Foreign visitors arriving by air accounted for 29.64% of the total number of foreign visitors to Istanbul.
In February, the number of foreign visitors arriving by air in Istanbul increased by 19.17% compared to the same month in 2023, reaching 1,287,290. The number of foreign visitors arriving in Istanbul by sea in February was 4,232, showing an increase of 11.19% compared to the same month last year.
