'Last minute' sales decision from TUI

TUI, one of Germany's huge tourism companies, announced that it has ended the sale of "Last-Minute" tickets and travel at the low price applied in previous years.

TUI Chairman of the Board Sebastian Ebel pointed out that the demand for travelling abroad has increased greatly this year, with the end of the pandemic, and said that they stopped the sale of cheap tickets and travel. Stating that they will not sell air tickets under 50 Euros, Ebel said that due to the increase in fuel prices, they will have to increase their wages to a certain extent compared to previous years, especially during the summer holidays and vacation periods.

Pointing out that the interest in 'all inclusive' package holidays is high this year, Ebel stated that there is no increase in prices in countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Cyprus and Thailand. Reminding that the hotels on the Greek islands of Kos, Rhodes, and Creta are already full for the summer period, and that there is still an opportunity to have an affordable holiday in Majorca and Turkey, Sebastian Ebel noted that German tourists have allocated a budget of 1200 Euros for a holiday per person this year.

It has been announced that TUI, which has 1200 travel agencies, 130 aircraft and nearly 60 thousand personnel in various parts of the world, mostly in Germany, sends tourists to 108 destinations. Stating that TUI, which received 4.3 billion Euros of aid from the government due to the troubles during the pandemic period, paid all its debts to the state, Sebastian Ebel said that they made a profit of 409 million Euros by making a turnover of 16.5 billion Euros in 2022.
