Minister Ersoy: 'Antalya Airport's capacity will double

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, in a meeting with neighborhood muhtars in Manavgat, evaluated the tourism successes achieved by Antalya. Ersoy stated that in the year 2023, the number of tourists hosted by Antalya exceeded 15 million 600 thousand. Minister Ersoy pointed out that this figure represented a 16% increase compared to the previous year, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure investments to sustain this positive trend in tourism.

Minister Ersoy, assessing the significant infrastructure investments made to meet the tourist influx at Antalya Airport, mentioned that following the successful airport tender conducted two years ago, investments have been rapidly progressing. He announced that the additional capacities, scheduled to be operational at the airport in 2024, would be doubled and put into service during the summer season of 2025. Minister Ersoy emphasized that this crucial step would play a critical role in meeting the tourist demand in Antalya and enhancing competitiveness in the tourism sector.

In addition to the developments at Antalya Airport, Minister Ersoy also touched upon the highway tender aimed at better managing tourist density and improving urban transportation. He expressed that this tender reaffirmed confidence in Antalya's tourism potential and highlighted that investments continue to support the sector.
