The occupancy rate in the Cappadocia region, which is on UNESCO's World Cultural and Natural Heritage list and one of Turkey's important cultural tourism centers, has reached 70%. Tourism professionals said that domestic tourists prefer coastal areas due to the closure of schools and the start of beach tourism.
Tourism professional Mehmet Dinler stated, 'June is one of the months with high demand. Due to the extension of the Eid al-Adha holiday to 9 days and it falling within the June calendar, we expect an increase in domestic tourists. We anticipate a surge, especially from the second day of the holiday onwards. During the summer period, domestic tourists' primary preference will be coastal areas. However, due to Cappadocia being centrally located in Turkey, it has been the first choice for visitors moving from east to west and north to south. We foresee that this will also be the case during this holiday. June is one of the popular months for our region. Currently, the average occupancy rate in the accommodation sector is 70% or above. With last-minute reservations during the holiday period, we expect to close June with at least an 80% occupancy rate.'
