Significant Increase in the Number of Foreign Tourists in Trabzon

According to the data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of both domestic and foreign tourists staying in hotels in Trabzon significantly increased in the year 2023.

Foreign tourist numbers increased by 51%

In 2023, the total number of domestic and foreign tourists staying in Trabzon increased by 38%, reaching 1,319,299 compared to the previous year.

In the past year, 706,532 foreign tourists and 612,767 domestic tourists stayed in Trabzon.

Compared to the year 2022, where 466,644 foreigners and 489,454 domestic tourists stayed, the number of foreign tourists increased by 51%, and the number of domestic tourists increased by 25%.

In this context, the total number of domestic and foreign tourists staying in the province increased by 38% from 956,098 in 2022 to 1,319,299.

Most visitors came from Saudi Arabia

Trabzon had the highest number of visitors from Saudi Arabia, with 286,465 people. In the visitor rankings, Oman was second with 60,375, the United Arab Emirates was third with 42,548, Kuwait was fourth with 42,425, and Jordan was fifth with 36,637 people.

International flights increased by 21%

Last year, Trabzon had 3,856 flights from 66 countries. The number of flights to the city increased by 21% compared to the same period the previous year.

While 385,443 people arrived at Trabzon Airport's international terminal the previous year, the passenger number increased by 20% to reach 460,622 last year.

In the city, with 296 travel agencies, there are 12 establishments with restaurant licenses, providing services with a capacity of 3,996 people.
