Tastes of different cultures are served to tourists in Cappadocia

In Cappadocia, which has made progress in the field of gastronomy as well as nature, history and culture tourism in recent years, flavors unique to the cuisines of different countries prepared by foreign chefs are offered to guests in 4 restaurants in Göreme.

Tourists, who take a lunch break during their trip in Cappadocia, which is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, have the opportunity to dine in Indian, Korean and 2 Chinese restaurants, where delicacies are served.

Action Alp, Cappadocia coordinator of the holding, which includes a Chinese restaurant in the town, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they witnessed positive reflections of the guests tasting the local dishes as well as the flavors they are accustomed to.

"Gastronomy stands out worldwide."

Explaining that masters from Turkey as well as chefs from Italy and Nepal demonstrate their skills in his restaurants, tourism manager Alp said, "The average length of stay in Cappadocia is two days, and we are trying to increase this time. There are test kebab, which has become a brand from local dishes, and dry beans in a casserole. In addition, we prepare internationally prominent Italian and Far Eastern dishes. Our restaurant also offers popular dishes from Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Korean cuisine."

Noting that they received a very good response, Alp said, "Last week, an Indonesian guest said that even his country does not have Far East flavors like this. This made us very happy. People should travel to Cappadocia not only for hot air balloons and fairy chimneys, but also for gastronomy. Tourism is an endless dimension, and gastronomy is a tourism sector that is gaining weight around the world.”

Tourists are pleased with the richness of cuisine in Cappadocia

Pravendra Singh from India, who works as a cook at an Indian restaurant operating in the town, said that she left Delhi, where she was born and grew up, and settled in Nevşehir five years ago.

Noting that there has been a significant increase in the number of tourists coming from his country to the region in recent years, Singh said that the Indian restaurant was opened because of this.

Explaining that he received training on the cuisines of different countries in India, Singh said, "People from my country are very happy to see Indian food here. They are surprised to see us here."
US tourist David Barnes, who has tasted international cuisine at different facilities in the region, stated that he visited touristic centers with his friend and had the chance to experience the cuisines of different countries' cuisines.

Barnes emphasized that he likes Cappadocia in every sense and that it is a must-see location for everyone.

Indian tourist Paresh Gondkar, on the other hand, stated that he was happy to encounter Indian food in Cappadocia, where he came with his family; "I could not have imagined that I would encounter such services in such an authentic place. During our stay in Istanbul, I was able to find the dishes of my own country, it was nice to meet you in Cappadocia."
