The healing water source Burguç, which falls down to 12-13 degrees in the Demre district of Antalya, is the address of those who are overwhelmed by the heat. Those who enter Burguç, where holidaymakers flock from all over Turkey and abroad, can stay in the extremely cold water for a maximum of 5 minutes. Those who say 'we are melting like butter' due to the extreme heat return to their homes shivering after entering the water source.
El Nino and desert heat, which have taken Turkey under their influence, continue to increase their impact. The tourism city Antalya is one of the cities most affected by the heat. Citizens and holidaymakers are overwhelmed by the heat in the city, where thermometers are 45 and above. In Demre, which is one of the important districts of the city in tourism, the people of the region and holidaymakers flock to 'Burguç', which has a mineral water feature with a temperature of 16.5 degrees and sometimes drops to 12-13 degrees. Those who come to Burguç, which belongs to the Demre Municipality and located on the Kaş tourism road route at the western exit of the district, cool off by entering the ice-cold water against the desert temperatures.

Stating that the weather is very hot, Hayrettin Özdemir said, “We are melting like butter. While the water here is like steel, we cool off with it”, while Melahat Bacaks, who came to Burguca from Finike district to cool off, said, “Burguç is very beautiful, we relax when we enter.”

Avni Kocaöz, who came to Demre from Aksaray on holiday, said, “The water is very cold. A person cannot stay in it for 5 minutes. They said the mud beautifies the skin. After the age of 50, we said let's get beautiful too. It was said that it was also good for joint pain and rheumatism, so I rubbed mud on my body. Demre is a very beautiful place."

Funda Şahin, one of the employees of Demre Municipality, said that after the temperature reached 40-45 degrees, people began to flock here and Burguç was incredibly cold. Şahin said that during the summer months, all Demrelians, citizens and tourists from other provinces cool off here, and some seek healing and beauty with muddy water.
