The ice climbing in Palandöken is breathtaking

The ice climbing wall at Palandöken Ski Center, which boasts the world's longest and steepest ski slopes, is attracting the interest of enthusiasts. Those who want to experience ice climbing on snow have the opportunity to do so in Palandöken. The artificial ice park, 30 meters high and 150 meters wide, located at the Palandöken Ski Center in Erzurum, offers adrenaline enthusiasts unforgettable moments. The artificial ice park at Palandöken Ski Center, known as the "shining star" of winter tourism, is particularly popular among adrenaline junkies interested in ice climbing.

Right next to the ski slope, Palandöken Ski Center is known not only for its magnificent ski slopes but also for many exciting activities on the snow. Melik Şah Tekin, the manager of Mustafa Tekin Ice Park, mentioned that one of these activities is the artificial ice park, where climbing can be done on the course until April. He said, 'The ice park can be efficiently used for both training and climbing. It allows up to 30 people to climb at the same time. Compared to other ice climbing locations, Palandöken's ice course is easily accessible. We organize a festival here every February. Being right next to the ski slope, people can not only ski but also climb on the ice.

Turkey's most easily accessible ice wall, the artificial Mustafa Tekin Ice Park, is located on the southern slope of Palandöken at an altitude of 2,200 meters, 3,176 meters above sea level. This ice park, shaped like an 'ice mountain,' is a pioneering facility in Turkey, allowing athletes to embark on their first climbs by setting their routes. The Ice Park, recognized as Turkey's most accessible artificial ice climbing wall, not only provides the opportunity for skiing but also allows climbers to ascend the ice wall while skiing. Climbing on the ice wall is permitted after approval from the Turkish Mountaineering Federation's local representation. For those without approval, the climb can be arranged with the assistance of expert safety personnel for a fee.
