The opening of the Istanbul Digital Art Festival was held at AKM

With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the main sponsorship of PASHA Bank, the opening event started with the presentation in English and Turkish by Avind, Turkey's first artificial intelligence curator.

Making the opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Özgül Özkan Yavuz stated that Turkey has an important place in the world in the field of digital art; "Especially during the global epidemic, the digital space has begun to deeply affect the content, language and content of art, as well as being a new medium in which art is presented."

Yavuz said, "Digital art broadens our horizons by facilitating the work of artists in fields such as science and technology."

Emphasizing that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is constantly working to strengthen the perception of culture and art throughout the country, Yavuz said, "Our Ministry establishes culture and arts living spaces equipped with the latest technological opportunities, adding value to the city they are located in, such as AKM, where we are now, and ensures that many beautiful activities are carried out in these places. "

Yavuz emphasized that they will continue to support events aiming to develop art, such as the Istanbul Digital Art Festival, which they have been supporting for 3 years.

"Works of the Azerbaijani artificial intelligence artist Shusha will be featured"

Hale Yıldırım, Vice President of the Digital Art Association, gave information about the content of the festival and said, "Is digital art the result of human molecules? The festival will feature the works of the Azerbaijani artificial intelligence artist Shusha."

Emphasizing that this festival, where art meets digital, is an important opportunity to generate innovative ideas, Yıldırım said:

"At this year's festival, 'Is digital art the result of human molecules?' We will look for answers to the question. In Turkey's first and only digital art festival, we will question this concept together with 25 local and foreign artists. Artists will show that science, technology and art can intersect with their works at the festival and they will contribute to how the boundaries between these phenomena can evolve into new ways. Our goal is to strengthen the place of digital art among art platforms and to spread the awareness of digital art."

After the opening event, the participants examined the digital works exhibited within the scope of the festival.

The "3rd Istanbul Digital Art Festival", where visitors of all ages can attend free of charge, will continue at AKM with various events until June 5th.
