Located 12 kilometers from Yalova, the Thermal Spas are in high demand for all four seasons, with 17 facilities certified by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and businesses certified by the municipality.
With the approach of the summer holidays and the Eid al-Adha, the reservations started to fill up at the facilities that have accelerated their preparations and prepared the facilities for their domestic and international guests.
Ümit Gürbüzoğlu, Deputy Director of Yalova Thermal Spas Enterprise of the Ministry of Health, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the facility, established on an area of 3,600 acres, has been one of the most popular thermal centers of the region since the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods.
Emphasizing that due to the proximity of the facility to Bursa, Istanbul and Kocaeli, the number of daily visitors and accommodation is always high, Gürbüzoğlu said:
"We have now completed 70% of our reservations for the holiday and Eid al-Adha. We are planning to enter the summer holiday and the holiday with 100 percent occupancy. After this holiday, the summer holiday is coming. That's why we accelerated our work. There are many historical artifacts and ruins as well as healing waters, baths and pools within the 3 thousand 600 decares of forest land. We are waiting for our guests who want to have a holiday both physically and mentally."
Stating that they expect foreign tourists this summer, as every year, Gürbüzoğlu stated that they hosted many tourists especially from Russia, Central Europe, Turkic republics and the Middle East in previous years.
"We are doing good work in terms of health tourism and thermal tourism"
Bigadiç Mayor İsmail Avcu stated that the thermal spring containing 98 to 106 degrees of selenium coming out of Hisarköy area attracted interest from holidaymakers, especially families.
Expressing that the reservation activity has started due to the Eid al-Adha and the summer holidays in the facilities, Avcu stated that they aim to reach better points in thermal tourism.
Explaining that the district is very lucky in terms of thermal tourism and that it should be promoted better, Avcu said:
"It is a very good thing that our thermal water is put at the service of our people. We are at the beginning of this work, we are currently doing good works in terms of health tourism and thermal tourism with our 57-bed guesthouse in Hisarköy, our hydrotherapy center in the district center, our practice hotel and stone houses. Hopefully, we will continue to promote our riches from now on. Our service may be flawed, but our water is of very high quality. Our water has analysis results from different places such as TÜBİTAK and Istanbul University. When we look at the reports, our water, which also contains selenium, is of very high quality. One of the best waters in the world is here."
