Turizm kenti Antalya, yaban hayatıyla da öne çıkıyor

Veterinarian and wildlife observer Doğanay Vural prepared a documentary video with traces of the city's wildlife in Antalya, where he observed caretta caretta, bats, brown bears, lynxes and wild boars.
Veterinarian Doğanay Vural, who has been observing wildlife in the mountains and forests for years, captured unique images in the tourism city of Antalya. Vural, who showed that Antalya is not only a tourism city by filming loggerhead carette, bat, brown bear, lynx and wild boars, presented the documentary he shot on his Youtube channel.

‘A special place from the summit of the Taurus Mountains to the creatures at sea level below’
Vural, in a statement to the UAV correspondent about the documentary he shot, said, ‘I am doing a project in Türkiye by researching nature and wildlife. At the same time, I am writing a thesis in veterinary medicine. It is about “testing the migration routes of brown bears and determining their habitats”. We travelled to Antalya within the scope of the “81 provinces wildlife in Türkiye” project and made a documentary about the wildlife of Antalya. Everyone imagines Antalya as a place to swim, travel and have a holiday, but for me Antalya is very different. It is a really special place that harbours different ecosystems from the summit of the Taurus Mountains to the creatures at sea level below.’

‘We observed wild boars walking with tourists’
Stating that they shot this documentary because they wanted to show the unknown beauties of Antalya, Vural said:
‘We filmed a brown bear in Antalya. When we asked the people around us, they would return to us like ‘what is a brown bear doing here’. In the same way, we managed to observe and film caretta carettas at sea level. However, we also encountered many negative situations during these discoveries. For example, we encountered negative situations such as our protected species caretta carettas getting caught in the fishing line of fishermen and losing one of their fins. Of course, these make us sad. This Caretta Caretta's whole body was covered with algae because it could not move. Likewise, when we went up to the Taurus Mountains, we had the opportunity to observe mountain goats. When we went down to the city centre, we observed wild boars walking right next to the city centre with the tourist people there.’
Vural stated that an urban life in which people build hotels and houses in the areas of animals and live a life where two populations intersect is seen in Antalya. Vural also stated that their next stop will be Bolu within the scope of the ’81 provinces of wildlife in Türkiye’ project.
