In the ranking of the countries sending the most visitors to Turkey in April, Germany ranks first with an increase of 16.72 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, Russian Federation is the second with an increase of 192.48 percent, and England (United Kingdom) is the third with an increase of 24.16 percent and the countries that followed were Bulgaria and Iran.
January-April period
Turkey hosted a total of 11 million 93 thousand 247 visitors in the first 4 months of 2023. In the first 4 months, the number of foreign visitors increased by 27.51 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and became 9 million 533 thousand 933.
With the statistics of the citizens residing abroad for the period of January-March 2023, the total number of visitors reached approximately 11.1 million. In the ranking of the countries sending the most visitors to Turkey, the Russian Federation came first in the first 4 months of the year. Russia, which achieved an increase of 134.94 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, ranked first with 1 million 153 thousand 341 visitors, while Germany was the second with an increase of 18.74 percent and 966 thousand 336 visitors and Bulgaria was ranked third with an increase of 17.45 percent and 797 thousand 956 visitors. Iran and England (United Kingdom) followed Bulgaria.
